Bred by Ellerslie Hop Australia, Melba or “The Dame of Hops” as it is affectionately known, is a dualuse variety with high oil content and similarities to Galaxy. When used as an early addition, it is said to impart a clean and somewhat spicy bitterness. When used as an flavour or aroma addition though, properties of passionfruit, grapefruit and citrus come to the fore. Characteristics: Clean spicy bitterness, aromas of passionfruit, grapefruit and citrus. Purpose: Bittering & Aroma Alpha Acid Composition: 7%-10% Beta Acid Composition: 2.5%-5%
