Black Rock Pale Ale is brewed to deliver a typical Australasian Pale Ale flavour with a light colour. NZ Green Bullet and Pacific Gem hops are added at the boil to provide a moderate bitterness. Brew with Black Rock Light Unhopped Malt Extract, or combine 2 cans of Pale Ale for a more powerful hop aroma and bitterness. Try brewing this recipe with a specialty US ale yeast like Safale US-05.

Two Row Malted Barley: We use the finest two row malted barley

Nelson Hops: Nelson hops are high in alpha acid which make them ideal for production of great beers

Water: Water quality is important in brewing and New Zealand has some of the purest water in the world

Yeast: We use a robust yeast, ideal for brewing in a broad range of environments
